Tuesday Tales - Flower

Welcome to Tuesday Tales! This week's word prompt is “flower”. Here is the next excerpt from A Biker's Guide to Saving a Goddess, Gods of DC Book 6.

Juliet was officially tired of flower wallpaper. The motels in Knoxville and Nashville had them. Now they were in Memphis and it was no better. Between that and the leaky ceilings, moldy bathrooms and stained carpets, their lodging was subpar. She slept in better digs when she turned tricks in France hundreds of years ago. She’d give about anything for one of Hades’s luxury hotel rooms at his casino.

Since they were eventually going to stay there in the next few days, maybe Hades could hook them up as a reward for calling these dumps home.

She stretched out on the bed fully clothed and ready to go. The few meager items she brought with her were already packed in the bag at her booted feet. A pile of pillows and blankets were heaped on the floor. She wasn’t kidding with Ares. If he couldn’t behave himself, he would sleep on the floor.

Speaking of the devil, he stood in the doorway of the bathroom staring at her, a towel wrapped precariously around his hips. Okay, she had to confess. He nested on the floor for half the night. She missed a warm, hard body to snuggle with. He woke up wrapped around her when the first rays of morning pierced through the slit in the motel’s curtains.

“You know we leave in twenty minutes,” she reminded him.

“That’s enough time for a quickie,” he answered her.

She ran the top of her tongue across her bottom lip. Saying that while wearing practically nothing was a temptation that was hard to beat. “You don’t know what a quickie is.”

“I can’t help it that you’re delicious and I always want more.”

“Get dressed, please. I won’t have us be the reason we’re late. One more screw-up from you and you’re going back to Hestia.”

His bottom lip popped out in a full deity pout. “I am not a child.”

“Let’s prove it to the family today, huh? No more fights.”

He huffed as he turned to go back into the bathroom. “Whatever.”

She waited for the lock to click before she crawled off the bed. She searched through the comforter for any of his clothes or shoes. Whatever she found was shoved into his satchel. Once she scoured the entire room, she zipped his pack closed and tossed it next to hers on the bed.
